Problem

Why is Update DRC taking such a long time to run?

Solution

Slow DRC checks may occur when there are either a large number of constraint areas or a large number of overlapping constraint areas.

If that is not the case, then large spacing values that need to satisfy high voltage requirements may be the cause of the slow checking. Large-spacing values result in more neighboring items being examined for each item being checked.

Also review your extra-large Spacing Constraint values. There could be a value of 999 entered. When this value is reduced, the DRC update can be reduced from 1 hour to a few minutes.
