I am receiving a licensing error when I try to launch my OrCAD product. The log file says my host ID is invalid and that it is searching for a host ID that does not match the host ID of my PC. 

 

To correct this error, I tried editing my license file to match the host ID search. But now I am getting an error message that states there is an invalid license key.

 

Solution

When you submitted your request for Educational license for OrCAD, you submitted the wrong physical address. Since license files may not be edited, we need to rehost your license and issue you a new license that matches the correct physical address of either your Ethernet or wireless card. This process may take up to 10 business days to complete. 

 

After you receive your new license file you can to use the License Server Configuration Utility to reconfigure the Cadence License Manager so that it uses the new license.
