DOS (OrCAD SDT)

These schematic files can be translated into Design and Library files for the Capture products. However, the Capture products can no longer translate a Design or Library file into a format for the DOS SDT products.


Windows (OrCAD Capture products)


6.x files  — must be translated (opened in and saved) through 7.00, 7.10 or 7.11, 7.20, a 9.x, a 16.3 and then 17.2 or current. 

Some current versions can open a 7.20 design and library files directly, skipping the middle steps. If the version you have cannot do this, then follow the steps. Most current versions can open a 9.x file format.

Current products cannot save back to a 6.x format.


7.00 files — must be translated (opened in and saved) through 7.10 or 7.11, 7.20, a 9.x, a 16.3 and then 17.2 or current.

9.00 – 16.2 files — must be translated (opened in and saved) right into 17.2 or current. Current products can save back to a 16.2 (9.00) format.


16.3 – current files — must be translated (opened in and saved) right into 17.2 or current. Current products can save back to a 16.2 (9.00) format.
