Question

I am using Orcad PCB Designer Professional and the menus look like the old Allegro menus. However I want the new menus. What is wrong?

 

Solution

You can reset the menus to display the newer display.  To reset the menus:

  1. Select the menu items: Setup > User Preferences. Your menu selection opens the User Preferences Editor.

  2. Select the UI > General folder to display the General settings.

  3. Verify the setting "orcad_use_legacy_menu" to determine whether the setting is selected/unselected with a check mark.

    If the orcad_use_legacy_menu check box is selected, click to remove the check mark.

  4. Click the OK button to save the setting.

  5. Restart PCB Editor.
