Question

I recently installed the recent Hotfix. Now when I invoke PCB Editor version 17.2 from the command line, I receive the following error message:

"Cannot load custom toolbars because registry entries are corrupt. Open Customize dialog, recreate custom toolbars, and save your customization. If you created any custom settings in a previous hotfix, use Manage UI Settings dialog to delete, recreate and export the custom settings. Restart the application."


Solution

To resolve this error

  1. Open the PCB Editor and enter the following into the command line:
    reset dockwindows

    This command resets the PCB Editor UI.
     
  2. Click Yes when prompted to reset the Toolbars and Windows to Cadence default.

    This cleans the registry settings.
     
  3. Open PCB Editor. The application now launches without the error.
