Question

How can I assign a net to a floating via?

Answer

Select the PCB Editor menu items: Setup > Application Mode > General Edit.
Hover your cursor over the floating via and select Assign Net to Via from your right mouse pop-up menu.
Assign a net name in the Design Workflow > Options form as shown below.
Select Done from your right mouse pop-up menu to assign the net.
