When Capture is unable to launch, you can sometimes successfully launch Capture after refreshing the Capture environment as described below.  

  1. Open your Windows File Explorer. Enter %HOME%  into the address bar located at the top of the window and press your keyboard Enter key.

  2. Open the cdssetup\OrCAD_Capture directory and then open the folder version for which you want to reset the environment.

  3. Find the Capture.ini file (Also seen as the Configuration Setting file if extensions are not visible). Rename the Capture.ini file to OLDCapture.ini.

  4. Relaunch Capture. A new Capture.ini file and environment is created.
