I am trying to log into CIP. However, I am unable to successfully login. I am receiving the following error message that states, “Unable to obtain license.” Why am I getting this error when I have a valid EMA license?



This type of error typically occurs after an installation or an update and your Windows Internet Information Server (IIS) needs to be reset.


To reset IIS, complete the steps that follow.

  1. Open the CIP server. 
  2. Open a Windows CMD prompt as administrator.
  3. Enter and run the command IISReset.
  4. Reopen CIP.
