Question
After placing a symbol on the schematic, I have modified the same symbol at the library level. What do I need to do to flag a warning?
Answer
In Part Manager, there is an option to verify parts against (.OLB) libraries. This option helps you get a warning if the OLB timestamp is different from that of the schematic cached part as follows:
- Open Part Manager and enable Verify Parts Against (.OLB) Libraries from Options > Update Part Status.
- Update the part status.
If the timestamps are different, Part Status shows as "Package Out of date" and the following message is displayed in the session log window:
"The timestamp of cached part package doesn't match that of OLB part package in {<path>\xxx.OLB}."
With this information, you can update the parts from the design cache.
