The troubleshooting instructions that follow describe the steps you can take if you install OrCAD and receive an error that is similar to one of the following two warning messages.

To resolve this type of error, complete the following steps

  1. Open the LMTools utility. The path to the executable file of this utility is: C:\Cadence\LicenseManager.

  2. Open the Start/Stop/Reread tab and select the Stop Server button.

  3. Wait 5 seconds.

Note: if you receive an error message that states, "unable to Stop Server" it is still important to continue with these steps.

  4. Click the Start Server button. If you receive the message "Server start successful" your license server is configured properly.

  5. Try again to open your software.

Warning: It is important that you do not attempt to run your license server configuration software again.
